In addition to pollution levels, CERC's air quality forecasts can include pollen levels, temperature and levels of UV radiation.
CERC obtain data on pollen levels from the UK Met Office. Data are extracted from the five-day forecast for the appropriate region.
The UV radiation levels included in CERC's air quality forecasts are obtained from DTN.
Temperature data are obtained from DTN, or are generated by CERC using the ADMS-Urban Temperature and Humidity model. This model predicts the variation of temperature over complex urban areas due to land use and anthropogenic heat sources, and can produce temperature data at high spatial resolution. These data can be used to provide heatwave and cold weather alerts to the public.
